Windows 7 is going end-of-life.

Microsoft support for Windows 7 is coming to an end in January 2020 so there will be no updates, patches or security hotfixes released after that date.

It’s not uncommon for hackers, knowing when end of life hits, to wait until after that date to find ways to exploit vulnerable systems and wreak havoc and there will be no means to protect Windows 7 computers from these attacks.

There’s no one actually stopping you from staying with Windows 7 if you really want to, but you should seriously consider whether you would want to use a vulnerable pc for activities like banking or online shopping or anything that requires you to provide your identity or financial information.

Unfortunately the 12 month grace period where you could upgrade to Windows 10 for free is long over and Windows 10 isn’t cheap, the current retail price on Microsoft website is $145 Home / $259 Pro.

But there are legitimate ways to upgrade to Windows 10 for only a fraction of the retail price!
