The typical Cyprus house is really not an ideal environment for a good WiFi signal, so it’s not unusual to find very weak or no signal in bedrooms, outside areas etc.

Most houses have a single wireless router from their internet provider which doesn’t extend much further than the room it’s in. This is because the reinforced concrete used in most Cyprus home construction is very effective at blocking WiFi signals.

Some people use ‘home plugs’ which can extend the network over electrical sockets, but often these don’t work well, especially over 3 phase circuits and when they do work the amount of performance loss can be 60% or even 80%.

Wireless extenders (repeaters) are also commonly used and while these give a good local WiFi signal to your devices, they’re often placed in-effectively so that the communication between units is weak and this results in poor performance. Bad configuration of these units also leads to low (or no) security on your local network.

But there are simple, reliable and inexpensive solutions available for a strong and reliable WiFi signal in and around your property with no degradation of bandwidth.
